For some, the university is an extension of the home. For others, it is a family tradition. In the recent graduation ceremony, Skyline University College (SUC) emphasized generations at Skyline – family members continuing the legacy of the previous generation.

For Emirati Moza Ali Shaheen Hamad Alsuwaidi’s family, the graduation ceremony on November 14, 2019, at the University City Hall, University City of Sharjah, UAE, was a special one. Her mother is currently taking a Master’s Degree in Human Resource and Moza who completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Finance was among the 350 students from 25 countries who graduated from Skyline for the academic year 2018-2019. For this family, Skyline has become a tradition. Through the years SUC has seen family members — parents and children, spouses, and siblings — graduating together.

For Emirati siblings Abdulla Khaled Mohammed Sharif Al Khoori, Mohammed Khaled Mohammed Sharif Al Khoori, and Ahmed Khaled Mohd Sharif Alkhoori, the recent graduation ceremony was not just a personal achievement, but a milestone for the entire family. These siblings from the same family all donned graduation robes and received their MBA in Strategic Management degrees from SUC at the same time. Nigerians Abdulkadir Salihu Muhammad (Bachelor’s Degree in Finance) and Ali Salihu Muhammad (Bachelor’s Degree in International Business) were also among the siblings who graduated. Moreover, Jordanian sisters Diana Baha Issa Abualshar and Jouliana Baha Issa Abualshar both completed bachelor’s Degree in Travel and Tourism at the same time.

“We decided to join Skyline together because we knew that we can find our way to a successful future through SUC. Skyline is the passport to success. My knowledgeable professors didn’t just teach me things related to my course, but they opened my eyes to a whole new world. What we learned with pleasure we never forget … thank you, Skyline University,” said Diana.

The graduating students received their awards from H.E. Sheikh Fahim Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Executive Chairman of the Department of Government Relations, Founder Chairman Mr. Kamal Puri, Vice Chairman and Chair of the Executive Council, Mr. Nitin Anand, and Vice-Chancellor Prof. Mohammad In’airat.

Mr. Kamal Puri, the Founder-Chairman of SUC, congratulated the graduates, leaving an inspiring message: “Keep in mind your contribution to the society. Each one of us can make a difference by what we do.”

Skyline University College has given the world more than 12,000 graduates in its almost three decades of existence. It continues to encourage students to make their mark and leave a legacy.
