H.E. Sheikh Khalid Bin Humaid Al Qasimi Inaugurates Skyline University College ICD-2019
The first International Conference on Digitization (ICD-2019) of Skyline University College commences on November 18 with the theme “Landscaping Artificial Intelligence” under the strong technical patronage of IEEE.
The two-day conference is being attended by more than 100 researchers and academicians from more than 20 nationalities including the UAE, UK, Taiwan, Singapore, Jordan, Malaysia, India, Philippines, and other GCC countries.
His Excellency Sheikh Khalid Bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors-Emirates Innovation Association graced the occasion as the chief guest. The participants were welcomed by SUC’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mohammad In’airat.
The keynote address was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Samir El-Masri, Chief Executive Officer, Digitalization, and Certified Block Chain and Digital Transformation Expert on the topic of “Digital Transformation of Economy.” Dr. Fatma Taher, Chair IEEE UAE Section, briefed the participants about the function of IEEE. The preliminary session was conducted by Dr. Manpreet Singh Manna, Former Director of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of HRD, Government of India, on the “Role of Artificial Intelligence in ICT enabled Teaching and Learning in Higher Education.” The plenary sessions were followed by the workshop on Artificial Intelligence by Dr.Sahid Cholayil, the Founder-Chairman of Project 3G, Co-Chairman of India CEO Forum, Recipient of Race Award at Harvard University.
The first day of the conference concluded with the participants exploring the culture and tourist spots in Sharjah in a tour organized by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) and a Dhow cruise.
The conference, which served as a platform to foster international collaboration in exploring technology and innovation, included topics on Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence, FINTECH, Cloud Computing, Digital Security, Robotics and AI, E-Governance and Smart Society, Digital Business and Communication Networks, among others.
